Elisabeth Sladen, aka Sarah Jane Smith, died of cancer today at age 63.

I can't even...I mean, dammit all to hell, this is just so depressing. I didn't even know she was sick...

My first DA journal entry ever and it's essentially going to be me advertising my newest music video (if you've friended my on LJ or subscribed to me on YouTube, you already know about it, so you can just ignore this entry). It's an AU video about the Tenth Doctor, Donna and Susan Foreman, the Doctor's granddaughter from the classic series.

Full Summary
The TARDIS crashes on Earth in England in the year 2165. The Doctor is obviously shaken by this news and won't leave the TARDIS. Donna catches him viewing old clips of a young girl, whom he informs her is Susan, his granddaughter (whom he left on Earth in 2164). Donna wants to reunite the Doctor and Susan, but the Doctor doesn't think he could handle having Susan around, reminding him of all he's lost. Donna thinks Susan will actually help the Doctor, but he disagrees.

While the Doctor is fixing the TARDIS (and trying to keep from thinking of his granddaughter), Donna sees Susan on the viewscreen. She sneaks out of the TARDIS and approaches Susan.

Later, Donna and Susan return to the TARDIS. The Doctor is shocked at first, but the minute he lays eyes on Susan, all doubts disappear and the two run to each other. The Doctor, Susan, and Donna return to the ship. Susan is surprised by how much the TARDIS has changed since she last saw it. The Doctor apologizes to Susan, who tells him she's just happy they're together again.

With the TARDIS fixed, the Doctor, Susan and Donna fly away.

Notes:
- Video clips = blueish tinge (to differentiate from when the Doctor is watching videos and when Donna sees Susan on the viewscreen)

- I set this a year after the Doctor left in order to give Susan time to miss him.

- I haven't seen "The Five Doctors" yet, which I know Susan appears in, but from what I've heard it's rather difficult to pinpoint how it applies to Susan's history. I'm basically going on the idea that the last time the Doctor saw Susan was when he left her on Earth.

- This also ignores any book or comic tie-ins that involve Susan.

- And it also ignores the Doctor being the last of the Time Lords, though in this case he either doesn't know it or doesn't count Susan as a Time Lord or maybe he just figured he'd never see her again, so he found it easier to pretend she was dead.

- I don't know what happened to Susan's husband David, but suffice to say he's not with her any more. Maybe he died or they broke up.

- I couldn't find any clips of the Tenth Doctor saying "granddaughter", so I had to cobble it together from different clips, hence why it sounds weird.

- For those who haven't seen the NuWho episode "The Doctor's Daughter", the Doctor's cut-off hand bubbling in a jar signalled his daughter's (future) birth. In this case, it's signalling that Susan is nearby.
